Hi Friends and welcome back to my monthly blog post! This month I’m sharing some of my favorite pieces from Restoration Hardware’s Contemporary catalog. It’s filled with simply gorgeous and elegant pieces! I took my time pouring over it’s pages since there were so many beautiful images to take in. The silhouettes are streamlined yet sculptural. Each collection is inspired by a different era and style; from elements of African Tribal Design to Contemporary European, to Italian Postmodernism, 1940’s French Streamline Moderne and 1970’s Postmodernism. It’s a cornucopia of drop dead gorgeous furniture and lighting by amazing designers and artists. So much so, it was exceptionally hard to limit my post to only 9 pieces! But I like to do tight capsules like that so as to not overwhelm. I can tell you I mostly gravitated towards towards the curved pieces as I’ve always found those shapes to be more organic and visually pleasing.
The material story is also beautiful. The catalog opens with The Cortona Collection of sofas and sectionals in Holland & Sherry wool twill. To quote, “Holland & Sherry, a venerable British Textiles company, has been producing fine fabrics for Saville Row tailors and couturiers around the world since 1836. Their sophisticated fabrics for the home offer a richnesss and depth of color that echoes teh comfort of natural fleece.” Um, yes please! From their truly luxurious fabric options, you go down the rabbit hole of luxurious materials with pieces in Carved Italian Travertine & Marble, Burl Wood, Blond & Caramel Oak, Wire Brushed American White Oak, Alabaster, Fluted Glass and so much more. I didn’t even touch on the outdoor pieces! Honestly, their catalogs read more like a beautiful magazine. If you didn’t get the physical one, you can see all the collections here. I hope you like what you see below. 🙂
All my best and enjoy!
